Power Plant Simulation and Training System
We are pleased to offer full featured, real time, high fidelity simulation models that provide training on all major power plant equipment and control systems.

UNIVERSAL SIMULATOR MODELS

All of our universal simulator models, offered for sale, are full scale, high fidelity, real time emulations that include:

  • Fully interactive P & ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) based instructor stations. All major valves in the plant that are not controlled directly from the DCS console are controlled by the instructor or the "field operator" on the instructor station. This allows an auxiliary operator to see what his or her role is in the field.
  • Photo-realistic synchroscope and trend charts.
  • Back-track, and time controlled play-back functions.
  • Extensive pre-set malfunctions that allow the instructor to insert boiler tube leaks, feedwater heater tube leaks, turbine and generator malfunctions, and control malfunctions. This, in combination with the interactive P & ID's, allows the instructor tremendous flexibility for setting up training scenarios.
  • Extensive Trainee Proficiency Review (TPR) utility allowing the instructor to choose testing parameters. This includes choosing sample points, high and low limits, and the time out of bounds. The results of the TPR's can be trended and scored in an objective manner.
  • Instantaneous snap-shot functions. Snap-shots can be saved on an instructor controlled time basis (as fast as 1 snap-shot every 3 to 5 seconds), or manually by the student without disturbing the simulator model operation.
  • Extensive training manuals that include comprehensive Power Point slides to augment the training program. These slides were built by power plant operational professionals to be accurate, extensive, and loaded with excellent supporting graphics.

Available Configurations

We can configure virtually every major turbine to be fired by any of the major boiler manufacturers. We can also supply numerous different control variations. (All configurations can be purchased as either 8-bay or 12-bay simulators, plus an instructor station and main model hardware providing the users with either a 10 or 14 bay usable workstation environment.) All of our simulators have various universal control emulations that include industry standard hierarchies and usage details.

The following configurations are only a partial listing of the available, universal simulators:

Sim - 16 500 MW 2 on 1 combined cycle modeled with 3D Pact!
This is an exceptional, ground breaking simulator. It is modeled with a 3-D add-on called 3D Pact that allows the user to "walk-thru" the plant. 3D PACT is an interdependent suite of real time 3D rendering software technologies. 3D Pact provides plant instructors, operators, engineers and maintenance staff with unrivalled abilities and intuitive, easy to use interfaces for training, monitoring and planning purposes. It allows integration of a full 3D Plant with an existing or new Training Simulator via industry standard communication protocols which truly puts the physical plant in the classroom. This allows unparalleled multi-disciplinary training options and by providing a physical plant together with a full-scope simulator it allows deeper understanding of plant processes than what is possible with only a standard control room simulator.
